My husband and I have both been laid off. We have tried to minimize our bills so that unemployment would cover everything until able to secure employment however we have fallen behind and have exhausted all options for borrowing money.

We have never been in this situation before and have always been able to provide for our family. We have not been able to find work, have even applied for jobs at Burger King but are told we are overqualified. The competition is fierce right now for employment. Now my unemployment has run out making it impossible to pay our rent. Our landlord has done all they can but if we don't pay our balance in full, they will start eviction proceedings.

I am afraid we will not be able to put a roof over my daughter's head. My husband should know by next week whether or not he will be hired at a new job but it won't be enough to get us out of this mess. It's very hard to see a grown man cry since he was not able to give his daughter a decent gift for her 15th birthday. I have just started a new job so this will help financially. If we could just get our rent paid up to date, we would be able to see a light at the end of this very long and difficult tunnel.
