Dear Donors,

I am a proud single mother of a 14 year old Duke TIP scholar. I am also a full time student and I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa. My 85 year old mother lives with us also. I have no health insurance and had to go to the emergency room. Although the hospital charitable organization paid the hospital fee, it does not cover the doctor's care. This is what I need the grant for, as each month it accrues interest and hurts my credit.

I recently exhausted my unemployment and will not receive my student loans until sometime in September. With your help to pay this bill I can keep my credit in good standing and not have the worry of this debt over my head as I start up with my classes for fall.

With a clear and unworried mind I can continue to get straight A's and work towards my goal of obtaining my associates degree, so that I may breath a sigh of relief in my life. Thank you for your kind consideration
