I am immigrant to the USA, and have been living in the country for the past 5years. I am considered a legal resident of the country, and have held a green card as proof of my residency and ability to work and provide for my family. I am also a single mother of two small children, and my niece recently moved in with me.

Upon visiting my sister on 4/30/10, my car was broken into and my purse containing all my personal belonging was stolen. This has proven to be a very devastating, as my purse contained my green card and my children social security numbers. After reporting the incident to the police they advised me to search the neighborhood trash cans, as the perpetrator sometimes will ditch the purse. Fortunately, I was able to retrieve my purse, but unfortunately my purse was taken.

I am currently in the process of re-applying for my green card, but due to monthly mortgage payments, bills, and upcoming school year (purchasing uniforms, and supplies) I am unable to come up with the total amount needed to apply for a new green card.

Any assistance that your funders will be able to provide will be greatly appreciated as this is my only way to visit my parents who currently reside outside of the country.
